Our client, a prestigious wholesale company based in Binley are looking to recruit a Purchasing Assistant for a 1 year contract, potentially permanent, to their friendly, family feel team.  Reporting to the Purchasing Director.  The successful candidate will help maintain our supply inventory levels and negotiate deals with potential Suppliers. The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for learning company purchasing policies and procedures and maintaining supply inventory levels required for effective company operation. To conduct regular price comparisons to ensure that the company is always getting the best price for each product that is purchased.

Duties include:

  • Maintain strong working relationships across all departments in the business.
  • Assist Accounts department with Supplier invoices and make sure all invoices are filed and organised.
  • Raise purchase orders for stock that has been ordered.
  • Assist with getting all information of new products on Microsoft Navision.
  • Liase with the warehouse with scheduled deliveries so they can plan and organise resources.
  • Utilise the shared calendar between office and warehouse to plan in deliveries.
  • Use Microsoft Navision to update any product descriptions/ product quantities.
  • Complete packs for all paperwork and do not file until packs are complete.
  • Put all relevant paperwork in the correct folder and ensure it is organised, so it is easy to locate paperwork if needed.
  • Arrange transport to get the products to the premises if required and for any sales orders for the sales team.
  • Tracking of all orders to monitor the progress Provide a weekly list of deliveries due in next week and inform relevant colleagues.
  • Researching potential new Suppliers and purchasing the most cost-effective products.
  • Help with any other duties from time to time from the Directors.
  • General office duties such as answering telephone calls.
