After realising that teaching was not the career path for me, I needed some temporary work whilst I decided on something new. I approached several agencies with a lack of confidence due to my limited experience. John from Watford Hamlin Knight office was very welcoming and offered much needed positivity; he talked me through the different types of temporary work available, and assured me that limited experience was not at issue. Within a week, John had secured me work as an admin assistant in the merchandising team. I knew nothing about merchandising, but learnt a lot from the friendly people around me. Three months into working for one Hamlin Knight’s biggest clients I was offered a 6 month contract. I was then approached to apply for their graduate scheme, which I have now successfully completed. Due to my experience in merchandising and what I had learned from the graduate training, I was then asked to be a member of a new team for an exciting project that is going to aid the growth of the business.
Looking back at how nervous I was when I initially met the consultants, I am so grateful for the support and encouragement Hamlin Knight gave me. I am now succeeding on a career path that I have never before imagined, and loving it. Walking into Hamlin Knight a year ago was the best thing I ever did!
